Wootin’ Wednesday: ‘Tis the Season for Gifting… But Do it With Style & Design!

This holiday season, show your customers how much you appreciate their loyalty with unmatched quality and design.

The Art of Corporate Gift Giving to Customers

When sending out gifts to your customers, be sure to keep the holiday spirit in tact: the gift giving should be the main focus while the logo remains minimal and in good taste. You want the customer to know that you are thanking them for their loyalty—this time should be about them, not about you.

“Tokens of appreciation: Make sure that gifts sporting your company’s logo meet a certain standard: well made, in tasteful colors and with the logo understated enough not to look like an advertisement.” — emilypost.com

The Gifts You Give Will Leave a Lasting Impression—Make it Count

Although your customers have already proved their loyalty to you, it is important to remind them of the loyalty you also have to them.  It is your duty to produce products which project a quality brand image that relates directly back to the quality of your services or products.

“To make sure those gifts leave a lasting impression, personalization is key.”— CNBC.com

So, what is the take-away from all this?

When rewarding your customers for their loyalty to your company, make sure to send them a gift that you wouldn’t be ashamed of giving in person.  Keep your brand, your message and your mission consistent throughout the holiday season. In order to leave a lasting impression, it is key to produce quality products and creative messages that project a quality brand image.

Seven Essential Tips in Corporate Gift Buying

While the availability of online shopping makes the act of corporate gift giving much more convenient, it can also leave some business owners scratching their heads on which direction to take when buying for their customers.

But before you dive into ordering, consider these seven essentials of corporate gift buying via About.com

1. Check corporate policies—always know your corporate limitations in terms of dollar value for gift giving. The last thing you want is for the recipient to feel you went above your means.

2. Determine wants—talk to your customers/clients. Get to know them on some type of personal level. If you know what their hobbies or interests are, this makes the act of gift buying less challenging, and potentially more fun.

3. Consider cultural differences—do your research. A lot of cultures have different guidelines when it comes to corporate gift buying. For example: in Chinese culture, a gift should never be wrapped in white because it symbolizes death.  These gift-giving catastrophes are things that you will obviously want to avoid.

4. Go for quality—as said before, any gift or product you send to your customers projects an image of your company and your brand.  Make sure they know as a loyal customer that they will always receive quality products.

5. Use hand written cards—this little bit of personalization goes a long way.  It lets the customer know that you care enough to take the time to make their gift extra special this year, just by sending a hard written card.

6. Spend on packing—spend a little extra [time or money] on making the presentation of your customer’s gift simply outstanding. The effort that you put into personalizing and packaging your client’s gift reflects how much you value your clients and the relationships you have established.

7. Deliver personally—while this may or may not always be possible depending on how large your gift list is, consider personal delivery in order to make your company stand out during the holidays.
