Tuesday Tips: Remember, Nobody Said Social Was Easy!

adgi Hearing imageQuantity versus Quality: Too Many Updates Can Muddy the Waters and Drown Out Your Audience!

Previously we identified steps 1-3 in building an effective mobile-marketing strategy; now, it’s time to evaluate your social media efforts.

The most important part of using social media intelligently is to remember that listening is key: always listen twice as hard as your speak.
(That’s why you have two ears, and one mouth.)

Actively Engage With Your Followers
The most integral part of social media marketing is to engage in conversations with your followers, and not simply act as customer service representative. By engaging in real conversations with real people in real-time, we can identify what they want to listen to, and in turn discover how to model our data to keep the conversations active and engaging.

Be Useful
Make it a goal to give people something they can easily use. Make your tools available across all mediums, whether it be a mobile device, desktop or tablet.

Data Can Be Boring
Think like a consumer: data can remove emotion, but it also adds credibility—be smart about how you’re modeling data. By focusing on small numbers and smart data, this allows movement towards insights and away from metrics. Insights show you how your users or followers will respond to online marketing efforts; metrics allow you to analyze the data from those insights of online marketing. If you incorrectly identify your social media insights, your effort in metrics may be inaccurate or even somewhat meaningless.

How to gauge your overall social media efforts:
1.) Sales revenue: has it increased or has it decreased?
2.) Reputation of your brand: what are people saying about your brand online
3.) Volume of conversation: how many and how often are people engaging in conversations about your brand?

Together, these three components give you an honest insight to people’s perception of your brand.

The bottom line? Engaging conversations build businesses. Remember, nobody said social was easy!

Let us help in the process of building and evaluating your brand online. Let’s begin the conversation – call or email us today for a complimentary Social Media Consultation: 239.596.4770, info@absherdesign.com.
